Abodes

This project originated from two gifts. The first was a set of handmade Japanese paper business cards given to me by my dear friend and collaborator Tia Vierling. I treasured the paper but was at a loss when it came to using it. About a month later my sister brought me a micro zine, designed to fit in a wallet, which inspired me to make books of a similar size. Words and art that are meant to be carried with one every day.

In honor of these two gifts, I wrote a poem dedicated to the special love that exists within friendship and the ways it lets us grow beyond our limits as individuals. I found that the dedication and attention the best friendships deserve were mirrored in the process of setting the type and letterpress printing this book.

I intend for this to be the first in a series of tiny books that are meant to live alongside their owners.
